If you watched my recent Spring Fashion Haul + Try on video, you know by now that I went on a crazy denim hunt with Kristina for affordable cropped denim. While on the hunt for denim, we stumbled upon this adorable tweed jacket at crossroads trading co. Crossroads is a recycled clothing store. You can buy, sell, or trade fashion at any of their locations. I enjoy visiting Crossroads because while it is still considered thrifting, they have dressing rooms and the store is pretty organized. The clothing is also curated, so you won’t have to sort through too much junk.
Originally Kristina had found this tweed jacket along with another one and my eyes popped out when I saw it. The second she put its on and it was slightly too big on her, I knew it was mine! LOL. The brand is HAI, neither of us had heard of it before. The quality of this jacket is nice, there were no noticeable wear or tear of it, and it fit like a glove. I really loved how the jacket pulled together this otherwise basic, casual outfit, my signature.
I also thrifted the denim I am wearing. These were a little too long, so I cropped them another inch at home, made the distressed knees a little more distressed, threw them in the dryer, and wa-la! The perfect pair of high-waist cropped denim for $10.
I wanted to cinch my waist a little with a belt. The belt I am wearing is from high-school. Yes, I keep things around a long time, if I love them. Also why I am okay with investing in pieces I know I’ll wear a lot. Originally, I found the belt at Abercrombie and Finch (sigh… those days when all I wore was A&F). My grey t-shirt is from a new brand The Beginning of available on Zappos. Currently, I am loving the elevated casuals from the brand. They remind me a lot of James Pearce, Splendid, and Theory, but for a fraction of the cost. This t-shirt gives me a relaxed vibe, but shapes me in all the right places.
To add a little something to the look, I layered two necklaces. The circle necklace is from one of the booths at UNIQUE LA a few years ago and the long necklace is from Katie Dean Jewelry. The necklace is no longer available, since I bought it over a year ago, but she makes some of the most beautiful pieces, defiantly worth a visit.
Another piece of jewelry I’ve been loving is this Mejuri evil eye chain ring. I am obsessed with chain rings, they are so comfortable to wear and dainty too. This ring is made really well with sterling silver. The pop of teal is eye catching and beautiful. If you are interested, you can use: dyh20 on any Mejuri purchase for 20% off. I might pick up a few more pieces myself. The quality and design is quite impressive.
Lastly my handbag and shoes are from Zara, super affordable and both pieces are defiantly a staple for Spring. I have worn these mules a ton lately and they are comfortable and go with so much of my wardrobe. The handbag is easy and light weight, fits just what I need for the day.
Where are some of your favorite thrift stores? I’ve never really thrifted before, but now I’m defiantly hooked!
