Bloglovin’ H&M Awards 2016

Man Repeller, Bloglovin’, and H&M are teaming up to find the “Breakthrough Fashion Blogger of the Year.” The challenge…? “Styling a piece of H&M clothing that is unique to your style.”

Here is what I came up with for my Bloglovin’ H&M Awards 2016 entry.

If you are a long time reader or viewer, you know I am all about simplicity. (less is more, and comfort above all else) It doesn’t matter how amazing your outfit is, if you are overly worried about your clothes and constantly fidgeting, you’re just not going to look great. My blog and channel is all about doing whatever makes you feel beautiful and confident from the outside in. On a typical day, you’ll find me in jeans and T-shirts paired with sandals. I also love to mix high and low. H&M is a great resource for those of us on a budget and want to save a little when it comes to clothing. For handbags and recently, now shoes, I’ll invest in luxury designer pieces. For clothing, I like to save and find good affordable, quality pieces, like this beautiful blue dress from H&M. I had a lot of fun styling this look for the Bloglovin’ H&M Awards 2016. Hope you like it! 

This dress is comfortable and light-weight, perfect for a summer evening out. With ruffled detailing on the sleeves and the midi length, it’s a classic. I love how simple and elegant the dress is. I can accessorize, dress it up or down. Wearing a dress always makes me feel more feminine and put together. It’s also a great travel piece because you don’t need much else to make an outfit. When I travel I forget things and end up packing tons of stuff that I can’t seem to make outfits out of. For example, my first trip to Europe, I forget to pack pants and bottoms. I had a ton of tops, jackets, accessories, and no pants. Who does that?! This is why I love dresses, romper, and jumpsuits for travel. You bet this won’t be the last time you see this blue dress.

For today’s look, we were headed out to an event in Culver City. When it comes to events, I like to keep things casual, but elevated. I added a skinny neck scarf  for a pop of color and pattern. The fun tassel lace up heels modernized the dress and also tied in with my Chloe Faye handbag. This look made me feel beautiful and confident. I had fun shooting before the event and really that’s what fashion should be about. Having fun and looking good.
