Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation Review

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today’s Tester Tuesday is all about the New Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation. This is suppose to be a smooth, glide-on formula for a fresh, radiant complexion that defends skin against environmental aggressors and provides broad-spectrum sun protection. It’s available in 14 shades and costs $60. For a full in-depth look make sure to watch my Tester Tuesday Video showing you the application with primer and without primer. I use a Real Techniques expert face brush on one side and a damp beauty blender on the other side. I also use an ultra HD camera for true to life close ups of my skin, check-in’s throughout the day and a photo flash test. You can watch the full video at the bottom of this blog post.

I am so excited this luxury foundation is finally available in the U.S.! If you are like me, you must have been anxiously waiting for the Chanel les beiges healthy glow foundation to launch in the U.S. Honestly, my local Chanel counter started to recognize me and give me the sad nod no every time my hopeful self walked by to check. Some of my favorite bloggers and YouTubers are British and they have had the Chanel les beiges healthy glow foundation since the beginning of the year and raving about it! Chanel always does an outstanding job with packaging. This new foundation is no exception. It comes with 1 oz. frosted glass bottle and a pump dispenser with a black pump cap. For me the foundation was a medium to full coverage, looks natural, but not as radiant or glowing as I thought it would, especially after reading the product description.

My main concerns about the foundation is, while I love how it looked on my skin and how it wore throughout the day, the 4th ingredient is alcohol. It doesn’t specify which type of alcohol but just says “alcohol.” This makes me think that it’s the skin drying type vs. the hydrating versions. On the plus side, there is a combination of physical and chemical SPF, which is better than the typical chemical only found in foundations. It also is an SPF 25, not quite enough for being out in the sun, but better than nothing. If you would like to learn more about SPF, I have a video all about it here. The foundation has a heavy fragrance, like most Chanel foundations do. Typically this would bother me, but I am okay with this one in particular. However if you are sensitive, be aware.

Overall I do like the foundation, I’ll have to wear it for a while before I can update you on how the foundation works with my skin. Will it dry it out or irritate it? I have been going on the cleaner route these days with skincare and makeup, being very picky in what I’ll use, so it’ll be interesting to see if the alcohol and fragrance end up causing issues. Compared to last week’s Tester Tuesday on the Shiseido Synchro Skin Lasting Foundation, I prefer the Chanel. The Chanel lasts longer on me and did not need any retouching after 8 hours of wear on a hot day. You can watch my Shiseido Synchro Skin Lasting Foundation Review here. If you are sensitive to fragrance, I would recommend trying the Shiseido one instead. Also if you would like more coverage Shiseido might still be the way to go for you.

Chanel foundations are the best for me! Always work like a charm! I am using the perfection lumber velvet with their new balm as a primer and it is perfection! I will definitely try this one too!

Your skin looks amazing! Great review and it’s spot on! I do have this foundation and I like it as well, I only wish it has a bit more glow to it. x

I wanted to try this foundation but after reading lots of review, this is not glowing like I was hoping it would be so I’ll be giving it a miss. Do you have a favourite dewy Chanel foundation? I like Vitalumiere Aqua but am looking to try another from Chanel.

Me too! I need to keep trying this to see how it works with my skin, while it says it was developed for sensitive skin, there are a lot of ingredients that make me think otherwise.

Looking forward to hearing if you love and choose to stick with the foundation. Looks amazing on you as a start though!

I would be all over this foundation if it was more glowy! I have yet to try the Vitalumiere Aqua and have wanted to for literally y e a r s so I think I may give that one a go soon since I’m running out of foundation (and by running out I mean I’m down to 7-8, which still seems like a lot, but isn’t haha).

I would try the Vitalumiere Aqua vs. this one for more glow. I feel you! I need to stop buying foundations and focus on using up my opened ones first!

It sounds like an amazing foundation! The fragrance might be a downside for me but your skin looks flawless!

Thank you Jill! I am kind of hesitant over a few of the ingredients and fragrance, but it did look beautiful on. Will update.
