Easy Makeup Bag Monday #13

This week is all about easy makeup to help me get through my crazy schedule. Last week, I kept it minimal and really loved the ease of grabbing my makeup bag and having everything I needed without much thought. For this week, I wanted to stick to the easy makeup concept. My schedule is getting a little crazy and I’m starting to feel burned out. I love what I do and could really use extra help, but also love being involved in every aspect, it’s a catch 22. By selecting easy makeup products that can give me a quick put together look in minutes, I hope it continues to cut down my get ready time and let’s me focus on what I have set for my day. Let’s start with my thoughts of last week’s minimal makeup bag products. If you missed it, catch last week’s Makeup Bag Monday post here.

Last Week’s Minimal Makeup Bag

Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette $75

OBSESSED over this all-in-one palette. Pretty much anything you need for an everyday face in one compact. The pigmentation is medium. As with most of Charlotte Tilbury products, they are super soft, finely milled, pigmented, but do not over blend. The powders are incredibly easy to use and made for patting and minimal blending needed. The colors are universally flattering from pale to medium skin tones. I’m not sure how the shades would fair for those of tan to deep complexions. The large mirror comes in handy. Really you just need a mascara and lip product and you’ll be good to go! Unfortunately this palette is currently sold out everywhere, so if you can find it, take the plunge if you are looking for a good all-in-one.

Dior Addict Lip Glow in Lilac $66

While I enjoyed the balm, I wasn’t sure it was worth the premium price. I love the way it made my lips feel, but didn’t really notice a tint of color. I do have very pigmented lips, which can make it difficult to see any tints or sheer washes of color. Overall for me, this was just an expensive lip balm, not enough of a lip color. If you are looking for a good balm/tint, try the Glossier Generation G, I prefer those and also like to use them on the cheek. You can use “HALOSEREIN” for $5 off till July 5th on any Glossier.com purchase. Read more about Glossier Phase 2 here.

100% Pure Fruit Pigment Concealer in White Peach $25

I really love the concept of this fruit pigment concealer, the coverage is great and super light-weight, but I found that the product has dried up significantly since I first purchased it a month ago. This makes me sad. I’ll try to keep working with the concealer, but if it does not keep for longer than a month, it’s a bit too pricey. While I love 100% Pure, it’s a shame that they cannot figure out a way to keep the concealers from drying up. I know that Dani from CoffeeBreakWithDani (her video linked) received her concealer super dry due to damaged packaging.

DMK Cosmetics Premiere Foundation in Shinto II $38 (watch my original video of why I love this so much here also all the video I mention this foundation here)

MY RIDE OR DIE! I forgot just how much I love this foundation! It’s super versatile, looks beautiful on the skin, and improves my skin’s texture! I’ve raved on and on about this little known foundation a ton. Recently I got a new one and fell in love all over again! This foundation is incredibly pigmented, with NO fillers or oils, so make sure to use very little or a damp sponge to apply the product. You can use a tiny bit for a sheer wash of coverage or build it up to full on coverage. It’s long lasting, does not break up, and all around my little miracle worker. Shinto II has been my shade for 3 years now, but I find that it’s a little on the darker side for me. I might have to look at Shinto I for the winter time. When I am on set, I know that makeup artist will use Shinto II and III to make my perfect color on camera. The great thing is that this foundation is available in small palette fillers and you can create your own custom palette with color correctors and all. If you want to know more watch my videos linked above. While the foundation is hard to find, it’s worth the effort. With the hot weather and long days, my skin has looked better than ever thanks to good skincare (updated skincare routine coming soon!) and using good products like DMK.

This is a very detailed post. Like you, I always don’t have much time in the morning to do a complete makeup look. Most of the time I go out without any kind of makeup (I swear I go barefaced most of the time. But whenever I have meetings outside or an event to attend I need an easy makeup look and versatile products that will help me look put-together in minutes. I love that the products you mentioned can help you achieve that. Thank you for introducing to me those products. I can’t wait for next week’s post! 🙂

You’re right about the DMK foundation as little known, frankly it’s the first time I am reading about the brand. Thanks for the intro, Serein but I checked their website and don’t see options to purchase? Where did you get yours?

Their website is a little difficult to navigate. You should be able to click on the Shop section and then look for the foundation that way. I was confused at first as well. Luckily there is a professional makeup store near me that carries their foundations.
