Everyday High-end Makeup Favorites

High-end makeup favorites

For the past month, when I am not filming or attending an event, I have been keeping it simple. While I have been keeping it simple, I find the products I consistently reach for are quite pricey. Some are my favorites and some I find I am using because of how much I spent on the products. Here is the breakdown on my current most reached for high end makeup products.

chantecaille just skin tinted moisturizer in nude

The Chantecaille just skin tinted moisturizer at $69 before tax is quite the splurge for a barely there everyday tinted moisturizer. However, I find I would rather spend more money on a product that I wear everyday all over my face than on anything else in my makeup routine. Why? Because when I am applying something all over my skin on a daily basis, I want to make sure the product is also infused with skincare. I have always been a stickler for good skincare, but as I get older I am very concerned with what type of base I am applying on my skin. The just skin tint, is just that. A beautiful slight tint to minimize any redness and make you look naturally beautiful. The SPF is not enough in my opinion for any major sun exposure or sunny climates, but for the inside of hospitals and offices, it should be fine in the winter time. I do like that it is a physical SPF, just wish it was a SPF 30, which I always recommend. The product is hydrating, yet does not make my oily t-zone shiny. It seems to know just what my skin needs. I’m afraid this splurge has become a necessity in my daily routine. chantecaille just skin tinted moisturizer in nude swatch

chantecaille cheek gelee in happy

While I was picking up the Chantecaille Just Skin Tint, I wear the shade nude, I stumbled across this recent release. The new Chantecaille ‘Cheek Gelee’ in Happy. When I bought mine, it was the first day of it’s release and I just had to give it a try. I was surprised at the $39 price tag considering this is the brand of $70 tinted moisturizers and mascaras. You get quite a bit of product for $39 and the universally flattering shade is a beautiful, hydrating tint. The formula is perfect. You get all the benefits of cream and jelly products, but with no residue. Lucky this new love affair will last me quite some time. chantecaille cheek gelee in happy swatch

Hourglass cosmetics ambient lighting palette

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette $58 is all the rage and I honestly have to say I don’t know why I own this. I originally purchased the full size of dim light and felt nothing for the powder. Then the adorable trio palette came out, I bought it. Again I felt nothing. Starting to sound like Diana from A Chorus Line.  Finally, I stumbled across the Hourglass flagship store on Abott Kenny and decided to customize my own palette. Nothing. At this point, I am just using this palette because I spent $58 on these powders. I know people love these powders, but I don’t really know how they truly make your makeup better. To me I do not see a difference at all. My custom palette include the shades: Diffused Light, Luminous Light, and Mood Light. Hourglass cosmetics ambient lighting palette

cle de peau beauté concealer

The coveted Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer at $70 is probably the most expensive concealer out there. Let me know in the comments if it’s not. This concealer is sworn by many makeup artists and celebrities. This is defiantly a YouTube made me do it purchase. I have to say, while I do love this concealer and enjoy the versatility, wear time, and coverage of the product, it really isn’t necessary. There are plenty of concealers out there that can do the job. If you want a slightly more affordable one, which I think is neck and neck with the Cle de Peau, I would recommend trying the Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer $32, this was my holy grail concealer for years and writing this post makes me think I’ll pick it up after I use up the Cle de Peau one. cle de peau beauté concealer swatch in beige

The Hourglass Arch Pencil $32 in soft brunette is a repurchase. Now that they have expanded the color options, this is one of my favorite quick brow products. I do wish it was easier to sharpen and that the spooley at the end was slimmer, but the waxy angled pencil is great for a brow on the go.  hourglass cosmetics arch brow pencil hourglass cosmetics arch brow pencil in brunette

What are some of your high end must haves? What would you like to see me test out on my channel?

I’ve been so tempted to buy the Hourglass palette and after reading this post I’m glad I held off on it! I have so many powders and highlighters and I can’t help but think that there should be some combination that’ll be a good enough dupe :/

Yes, I know everyone raves about this palette, but I just don’t truly see the point. Happy to help you save a little money 🙂

Oh no! I hate when that happens with a sales associate! I wish they would listen and just let us be. Sometimes if they just offer honest opinions and not push I will come back repeatedly. It’s such turn off. Thank you for sharing, will not be purchasing that mascara now.

    Hi Serein,
I was wondering if you’ve ever tried Jouer’s tinted moisturizer? It comes in both a luminizing formula and a matte formula. The SPF is only 20 but it is better than 15 and the cost is nearly half at $40. Hope you have a great day.

I have! I actually am a HUGE fan of the Matte Moisture Tint. I got my friends all hooked on it. Thank you for sharing! I typically finish a product and try to try new stuff before repurchasing again. I’ve repurchased the matte moisture tint 3 times now 🙂

Recently I had a major splurge on hourglass products. First super high end brand investment. I got the veil primer, veil foundation, ambient lighting blush, no.2 blush brush. I feel the same, like why would u make such an investment? Their products are really comfortable on the skin, more so than MAC stuff. So yeah, it’s relatable that you would spend more on what u put on your skin everyday. Wishing your family the best of health! April.

Hi April! Thank you so much for reading and commenting! I love the hourglass primer, it’s a holy grail. Sadly I finished mine and have been trying to use up some other primers before re purchasing. MAC is my least favorite in terms of makeup for the face. The shadows and blushes are okay, but I can never wear their foundations and concealers, it literally ruins my skin. Thank you for your well wishes. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving xoxo
