If you have been reading my blog for awhile now, Instagram, blogging, and YouTube as a job, should be no surprise for you. What started as an online journal, turned creative outlet to share my passion and love for beauty and fashion turned into so much more. It became my career. I love what I do and I love my readers and viewers. The last few months when I was completely lost and dealing with my mom’s sudden stroke, you guys were there for me. You understood the time I needed, the emotions that I needed to share, and most of all you encouraged me and prayed for us. I have always wanted to build a strong community of women, but I had no idea how strong we had all become till I needed you the most. Thank you for that.
Before my mom’s stroke, I had started teaching social media classes for business. Working with brands and speaking with so many established influences as well as new influencers, I realized there is a need for the basics of how to start and grow your Instagram presence. It is such a new medium, but a very necessary one for any brand.
At first I was afraid to teach a class, I thought “maybe they will think I am crazy or I don’t have enough followers yet.” What I learned from my first class was how much the information I had to share was valued and needed. It felt amazing to help so many individuals feel empowered though the class. We then created a second class in the series on “How To Take Photos for Instagram,” which sold out again!

Unfortunately, the second class was held right around my mom’s stroke, so I stepped back from continuing the classes. In my mind there is a third class, where I am able to sit down one-on-one with each attendee to go over their Instagram feed, evaluate where they are and where they want to be.
The other day, my good friend and salon owner, Natalia reached out and said “I have a class for you to teach.” I was hesitant, but then remembered how good it felt to share all the information I had to give. So, I am starting to teach again. This time including a personal one-on-one evaluation of each attendee’s Instagram account in the first class “Instagram For Business”, so I can hopefully point them in the right direction at the end of class. The idea is for attendees to implement the tools and knowledge they learn from this class and start to build a targeted audience. Then, in a few months take the “Photo Taking For Instagram” class which goes over how to create engaging content.
Sometimes it’s funny how life will open doors to you when you feel like you have too many doors open and you are trying to run through them all.

I’m so happy you are getting back into things after such a hard time. I went through a similar thing with my dad while everything was happening with your mom and I wanted to let you know I’ll be thinking of you through the holidays.
