Plan Ahead

Before you even step foot in the park, take some time to plan your visit. Check the park's website for operating hours, special events, and any closures. Purchasing tickets online in advance can often save you time and money, and consider investing in a queue jump pass if you want to maximize your ride time. We also recommend purchasing your parking online in advance as well.

One - day tickets start at $79 and can range in price depending on the date you choose to visit. Check their ticket page for up to date details.

We found even on a very busy day, most ride time waits were between 20 to 45 minutes and was manageable without a queue jump pass.

Get The Most Out of LEGOLAND California,  Arrive Early

To beat the crowds and make the most of your day, aim to arrive at LEGOLAND California as early as possible. Not only will you have shorter wait times for popular rides, but you’ll also have the chance to explore the park before it gets too busy.

A great tip that our friends who are annual pass holders gave us: if you arrive at the park and it feels busy, walk straight to the back and work your way forward to avoid crowds.

We visited during one of the busiest weeks of the year for LEGOLAND California and was still able to enjoy all the rides and attractions, but parking did take around 30 minutes to get through.

Must-See Attractions

LEGOLAND California is packed with attractions for all ages, but some highlights shouldn’t be missed. Make sure to visit my personal favorite Miniland USA, where famous landmarks are recreated with millions of LEGO bricks, and don’t forget to catch a ride on popular attractions like LEGO City: Deep Sea Adventure (another one of our favorites), and LEGO NINJAGO The Ride.

Height Requirements

If you’re visiting with young children, be sure to check the height requirements for rides and attractions ahead of time. The LEGOLAND California app and website have a great feature to filter your child's height to figure out which rides will be appropriate for them.

This will help you plan your day and avoid disappointment when you arrive at a ride only to find out that your child isn’t tall enough to ride.

Stay Hydrated and Fuel Up

Exploring LEGOLAND California can be thirsty work, especially on hot days. Be sure to stay hydrated by bringing refillable water bottles and taking advantage of the park's water fountains. Additionally, there are plenty of dining options throughout the park to refuel and recharge, from quick bites to sit-down restaurants.

We really enjoyed the Knights’ Smokehouse BBQ restaurant located in Castle Hill.

For a tangy sweet treat, we tried Granny’s Apple Fries also located in Castle Hill.

As always we also packed two lunch boxes filled with snacks for our toddler which keeps us going longer.

LEGOLAND California is Made for Kids, but Take Breaks:

With so much to see and do, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement and forget to take breaks. Remember to pace yourself and take regular breaks to rest, especially if you’re visiting with young children. LEGOLAND California offers plenty of shaded areas and seating where you can take a break and recharge for more adventures.

One of my favorite features of this amusement park are the LEGO stations set up for kids to build and play! This gave me time to catch up on a little work, relax, and sit down while my daughter built towers of LEGOS.

There are also a few splash pad areas perfect for hot days. Bring a change of clothes, plenty of sunblock, and a towel in case your kids want to splash around to cool off.

Stay for the Shows

In addition to thrilling rides and attractions, LEGOLAND California also offers entertaining shows and performances throughout the day. Check the park schedule for showtimes and make time to catch a performance or two during your visit. From live-action LEGO movies to musical performances, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

LEGOLAND California, A Definite Repeat

Our first visit to LEGOLAND California, we didn’t know what to expect, but it turned out to be the best family day we’ve had together.

The park is designed for kids and families in mind. There are plenty of family restrooms which are helpful when you have a potty training child, an infant, or someone in your group who needs help.

There are so many rides that my daughter was able to do on her own at 36 inches tall. She felt like a big kid and was so proud of herself for braving the rides on her own. We were overjoyed watching her experience everything.

Another bonus is that all the carnival games are designed so that everyone is a winner. We love carnival games, but it can be challenging to explain why $10 - $20 later we didn’t win anything. LEGOLAND thought of this and instead of not winning anything, you just aim to win different prizes based on luck and merit.

Great tips; I would love to be a Legoland in Serbia (we have a little exhibition every year, but real Legoland is missed here)
