Living in Los Angeles, I have the privilege of trying out the latest and greatest fitness classes. I have done my fare share of fitness classes and personal training sessions, so I am a tough customer. When I walked into LIT Method, which stands for low impact training, NOT to be mistaken for low intensity, I was immediately greeted by Taylor and Ashley. Everyone who teaches class is a certified trainer. Each class has 2 instructors. One main instructor and one to assist. Immediately  I respected the attention to detail and proper form. Classes are kept small with 14 student max. You will never have to fight for equipment or space. You can sign up for class ahead of time, so there’s no need to fight for a machine either. Taylor was super personable and took the time to show me around the studio, a few exercises, and the proper way to row before class.

Once class started, I found out quickly that Low Impact Training did not mean this was going to be easy by any means. The class started out on the water rower, which works your whole body and is also your cardio. Once warm and a little out of breath, you then move into using the TRX bands, which uses your own body weight for resistance training. I love using bands vs. weights because it forces you to stabilize yourself as well and works even more muscles. Next, Back onto the rower for sprints, more resistance training using bands, and back on the rower for more sprints. We repeat this for 50 minutes ending with a quick stretch session.

I rarely fall in love with a workout this quickly, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the class. It was fast pace, fun, and I got my sweat on! I love leaving a class feeling like I pushed my body and got a good workout. My favorite thing about the class, is it truly is a full body workout that included cardio without having to run. I hate running and my body doesn’t do well with it. When I take a class I look for something that will be one and done and LIT Method is just that.

The studio is clean, the equipment is in good shape, they provide towels, and the staff is knowledgeable. Parking can be a bit tricky if the lot is full, but where in L.A. is it not? The only thing I wanted from the class, was a longer cool down and stretch. I had such an amazing workout, I could have used a few more minutes of stretching before calling it done.

If you are in the area and in need of a good full body workout, make sure to visit LIT Method. wear comfy clothes, sneakers, and don’t forget a water bottle. The studio is brand new, when I took my first class, it was 2 weeks old, but I see great things coming to LIT.

Love your exercise posts! You should do a before and after pic someday too. 🙂

I also need to ask you: where did you get those really cute workout tights? And where do you like to shop for workout clothes?

Love this post! I haven’t done LIT, but it sounds and looks very much like Pilates and Pilates machines. I absolutely love it!!!! I get best results for the least amount effort. I mean, the class is not easy at all, but it’s not so hard on my body, and the results are great. So proud of you! Feeling strong and healthy is awesome!

Thank you so much Zuma! The class was quite intense, but felt amazing to works so hard without over working my body either.
