Welcome back to Makeup Bag Monday! Sorry for the delayed post, I decided to unplug and take some time to relax for Memorial Day. By taking time, I mean, I filmed 2 extra videos, edited, and uploaded last week. Making it a five video upload week! Caught up on e-mails, did a photoshoot for Moonplay Cosmetics, attended a few events for new product launches, and managed to not destroy the house in the process. Yeah, I don’t think I really know how to take it easy or unplug, but I did kind of let my blog fall by the wayside. Sorry about that! I have tons of content I want to produce, but never enough time. Please be patient as I figure it all out. If you’d like to watch my latest vlog, where I got to meet Erin Condren, you can watch it here. Part of managing everything the last few years has been thanks to Erin Condren life planners. I’ve been a long time fan and user of these old school, yet incredibly functional planners. I might even start doing more plan with me videos on my vlog channel. I think my vlog channel will start to become more of a vlog/lifestyle channel with diet, food, exercise, where as my main channel, with focus on beauty and fashion. What are your thoughts? I’d love to know.
Okay back to Makeup Bag Monday. Can you believe we are on week 11?! Where does the time go? I have to say last week was quite exciting with the new Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection launch. You can read my full review along with video here. I was beyond excited when I received the whole collection a few days before launch date. Which called for a last minute rush to get the swatches and review up for you guys. Hopefully everyone was able to pick up what they had on their wish list before it sold out. The whole collection sold out in around thirty minutes! That’s insane! The power of the internet, you guys rock! Don’t worry the whole collection will be back in stock on June 16th, but that’ll be it! So make sure not to miss out if you want anything from the collection.
As far as my makeup bag last week, I was pretty happy with my selects. Unexpectedly the Hourglass Illume Sheer Color Trio really impressed me. Out of all the products I had one fail and I’m not sure I’ll want to even give it another shot, because I’m rather scared as to what happened with my lashes when I removed the esteem Edit mascara. Okay, so let’s break it down for last week.
Last Week’s Makeup Bag
Hourglass Illume Sheer Color Trio in Sunset $62
Seriously impressed with this trio. The cream face palette was incredibly pigmented and easy to blend. A little goes a long way! So go easy with this baby. I find using your fingers to apply is the best way. If you’d like you can use a beauty blender or brush to blend out the product. It took me a few goes before realizing how little product I truly need. With the high price tag I’m happy with the color pay off because this means I can get more use out of the palette. The bronze shade is great at defining and warming up the complexion. I love the blush, it’s really the perfect natural flush of pink. The highlight is a beautiful non glittery dewy highlight that looks like you are glowing from within. If you are mature or dry, you will love this set. If you are combo or oily, set with a translucent powder and you’ll be good to go. The product last all day on me with minimal effort. The compact is sleek and easy to throw in my makeup bag for on the go or travel. I highly recommend picking this up.
The Estee Edit The Edgiest Up & Out Double Mascara $24
On first impression I love the mascara! The volume end really gives your lashes a surge of voomf. The lengthen end, separates and lengthens perfectly. The mascara wore all day with no smudges and I loved the super black formula that really defined my lashes. Unfortunately when it came time to remove my makeup, I lost a ton of lashes! I did not do anything different with my makeup removal. I used my cleansing balm that is a carrot butter base. This was massaged gently all over the face including my eyes. Then I used a warm cloth to remove the cleansing balm before using my facial cleanser and again using a warm cloth to gently remove the cleanser. I did not rub or tug at my lashes, but I found that I had lost a huge chunk of lashes. Not sure if it was the mascara or a weird falling of lashes, but I’ve been afraid to use this mascara ever since. Please let me know if you have used this! I love the wands and the formula, I’m just worried it’s the culprit to my current bald spot.
Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Pencil in Naked $20
Already a favorite lip pencil of mine, this is creamy, pigmented, and smooth to apply. Nothing to say, but praises. The Naked shade is a perfect nude lip liner that works beautifully with most of my lip products. I also enjoy how it does not dry out my lips, but stays put for quite a long time.
Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette $49
A favorite eyeshadow palette, this has been forgotten for a few months. I love this palette, mainly because it smells like chocolate and I get whifs of chocolate thought the day when using the palette. The pigmentation is good, smooth, bendable, and a great variety of shades that give you endless possibilities. Good combination of matte and shimmers too.
This week I kept it pretty simple and focused on the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face palette. I’m kind of obsessed over this. Already I like to use Amaretto mineral blush with Rose Spritz Luminizing Blush layered over it. Prosecco Pop has been everything and I just love the packaging. Today I broke out my 100% Pure powder foundation to use and I love this stuff! It’s such an amazing setting powder with a little extra coverage. Also trying out the 100% Pure chocolate mascara, you all know how much I love the blackberry one. Yes this mascara smells like chocolate!
This Week’s Makeup Bag
Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette $52
Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer in Chocolate $30
100% Pure Maracuja Mascara: Dark Chocolate $25
100% Pure Fruit Pigment Foundation Powder in White Peach $39
Hopefully this week I will get all the blog posts I have in my mind out! What are your plans this week? Have you rediscovered anything from your makeup collection because of makeup bag Mondays? I’d love to hear what you’ve been rotating or testing out.

Oh that’s good to know! I use the regular one, but have all three.
That is scary that you lost your lashes with that mascara! I have never used it but trust me, I will never ever try it after reading this. My lashes are pathetic enough, don’t need to lose any of them.
