Today is the first of a new series here on sereinwu.com, Makeup Bag Monday. Every week I will share with you what I have chosen from my current makeup collection along with new makeup to review. This will be a collection of products to rediscover, new products to test, and products to give one last go before hitting the trash. Come back every Monday to find out how the last week went with mini makeup reviews and see what I have selected for the following week.
I wanted to start this series hopefully to go through my ever growing makeup collection and rotate product I already own. So much of my makeup is neglected and I want to change that. Also I wanted to give products that I might not have loved immediately one last try before purging it from my makeup collection. Sometimes I don’t fall in love with a product, but don’t hate it either and it ends up just sitting there. Hopefully this series will help me purge the unloved items once and for all without gilt.
Lastly, while I try new makeup almost daily, especially for Tester Tuesdays (if you’re not watching, go check out the playlist here), I wanted to make sure I give certain products a closer look before updating my initial first impression reviews. This is also a great way to find out if I still love a product.

Love the idea of this post! One of my favourite blushes of all time is Becca Wild Honey – I instantly recognised that one before seeing the name! xx

Aw Thank you so much Daniela!
I’ve really been trying to organize my makeup so I can easily see what I have but that also requires putting it back where it goes! I try to rotate eye palettes, depending on my mood, but I totally get stuck in a comfort zone with certain items. I was totally trying to talk myself down from that Bobbi Brown palette but it’s so pretty. I would love to see a review on it! Great series!
That Bobbi Brown palette looks so pretty! I definitely neglect a lot of products from my makeup collection too, so I love your idea for this series!

Thank you so much Paula! The struggles of beauty bloggers 😛
I don’t own enough makeup to actually need to rotate it. I just use whatever compliments my outfit for the day or, I must admit, that I frequently go with whatever inspires me!

Such good plan of action! I use to only have one makeup bag of products I used everyday, but with blogging and YouTube my collection has defiantly exploded and I forget a lot of my favorites. Hope you still enjoy the series!
I think this is a great creative idea for a new series. I don’t have any particular routine for rotating through my makeup. The only product I naturally rotate is foundation, based on what I’m doing (work, casual outing, evening out) or how much coverage I feel I need. I’m pretty bad about getting in a rut with blush or eyeshadow, using the same thing repeatedly while the others sit in the drawer. I’ll occasionally go through a purging phase but for the most part I’m a hoarder LOL

Thank you so much for sharing Shirley! I totally know the feeling, I end up neglecting so much makeup and hoard things because I feel like I didn’t use it and how wasteful to get rid of it. I’m hoping this series will help me rediscover favorites, rotate products, and finally get rid of things I truly do not love anymore, or never did. Also a great place to do a bunch of mini reviews :-p Thank you so much for reading!
MANY IDEAS FOR OUR MAKE UP!
