Happy Monday! Welcome back to my weekly makeup review and series Makeup Bag Monday. This is the fourth week for the series, wow how time flies! Each week I pick out a few makeup products from my makeup collection and test them out for a solid week. Every week I update you on whether or not I love the products enough to keep in my makeup collection or to purge them. This has been a great way for me to rediscover forgotten makeup, as well as put new makeup to the test. Plus, you guys get updated makeup reviews on everything. Believe me, having to wear the same products for a full week defiantly gives a new perspective on makeup products. Let’s begin with last week’s makeup review. If you missed it, read Makeup Bag Monday #3 here.
Makeup Review ~ Last Week
Tom Ford ‘Soleil’ Contouring Compact $108
This limited edition contour palette is quite pricey, but I love it. At first, when I saw this beauty online, I thought that it wasn’t practical having 3 slim powders next to each other. In person this palette is quite large and I am able to fit my brushes in without too much of a mess. The bronzer, is a beautiful shade to add warmth to anyone with light to medium complexion. The pink blush, reminds me of the cream version in pink sand. I love the highlight. The highlight is a beautiful champing shade. On my no makeup days, I like to use the contour palette for the face and the eyes. Defiantly a splurge, but if you enjoy Tom Ford and premium products, this is not to be missed.
Tom Ford Cream Cheek Color in Pink Sand $68
The cream cheek color in pink sand was a buy from last summer. Tom Ford re-released it for 2016 and if you missed it lat year, defiantly get it this year. This is a cool pink with a golden sheen. The cream product applies nicely, is very pigmented, and settles beautifully on the skin. I found that the cream lasts all day and gives me a dewy look. If you are going for a more dramatic look you can layer the blush from the contour palette over the cream cheek color.
Tom Ford ‘Moisturecore’ Lip Color in Scandola $55
This lip color has been living in my purse all week (therefore forgot to include in photos). I love the bronzy sheer wash of color it gives my lips. Think my lip, but better, and cooler. The moisture core is hydrating and comfortable to wear. I found myself reaching for this lip color vs. my typical lip balm through the day. Defiantly considering picking up a a few more of these.
Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Color in Golden Peach $60
This was a bit of just an alright product for me this week. I found that I love the peach shimmer shade and the formulations is to die for, but the color washed me out when worn alone. I had to use a bronzer to define my eyes and make the whole look work. While I love the cream eye colors from Tom Ford, this might have been an impulse buy that I won’t be getting too much use out of. I’ll continue to play with it, but I defiantly prefer spice when it comes to the cream eye colors.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer in light $7.59
The perfect under eye concealer, I have recommended this affordable product to my friends and family for years. It’s light weight, creamy, pigmented, and lasts all day. Truly a great concealer for any under eye situation. I wanted to use this one up, but found that while I love the product, it’s getting a bit gross. I think i’ll have to toss it in the bin after I write this post. If you are looking for an easy no fuss under eye concealer that packs a punch for those eye bags circles, defiantly try this one. You really can’t beat the price either.
This Week’s Products
Burberry Complete Eye Palette Nude Blush No.12 $60
Gurlan Terracotta 4 seasons 03 Natural Brunettes $76
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer Medium Brown $23
Colour Pop Super Shock Cheek Quarters $8
Colour Pop Super Shock Cheek Lunch Money $8
This gorgeous Burberry eyeshadow palette has been neglected for too long. I think I’ve owned it for over a year and have only used it once or twice. On Sunday, I was lucky enough to attend a special blogger class at Sephora, Santa Monica and they were using a Burberry palette to demonstrate the perfect daytime smokey eye. It made me want to pull out my own palette for the week.
When I first purchased the Anastasia brow definer, I loved it, but it’s been shoved to the back of my brow products. This week I will pull it out to see if I still like it or if it’ll be purged from my collection.
If you follow me on snapchat (sereinwu) you would have seen my recent haul from Colour Pop. I picked up some new cheek colors to play with. I hate shopping for colors online, but these both have been highly raved about and I just love the formulations from Colour Pop. Plus you can’t beet the price tag of $8.
finally I caved and bought myself this beautiful Gurlan bronzer last weekend. Can’t up on my vlog channel if you like to watch me shop. After hearing all the raves about this high-end bronzer for years, I’ve decided to take the plunge. The packaging is gorgeous and I’ve already started to dip my brush into this beauty. Let’s see how I feel after a week.
This week’s products are a little bit deeper in color range. It’s been raining in L.A. and I wanted to try a bolder cheek and deeper eye palette to change up from last weeks very pink and glowy looks. Have you started your own Makeup Bag Monday? I love how a few of you have commented about how this series has inspired you to rediscover your makeup collections. Please share! I love to hear from you. Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!

I splurged on that Tom Ford palette during the VIB sale and I’m enjoying playing with it 🙂 I ordered that color of cream shadow, too, from Nordstrom but it still hasn’t come. I can’t wait to play 🙂 These are my first TF products! (BTW, I see “definitely” misspelled as “defiantly” several times. I don’t point that out to be obnoxious, but the photos and content on these posts are really great so it would elevate all your hard work even more to be typo-free.) Now excuse me as I catch up on the rest of this series. Cheers!
So many great picks Serein! That TF palette looks so stunning!

I love Colourpop eyeshadows but the currency exchange rate and shipping makes them overpriced. Maybe the gap will be smaller in time for 2016 Black Friday sales! Hey, a girl xan drea, right? ?

Oh no! I hope the gap changes soon.
