Makeup Reviews ~ Makeup Bag Monday #5

Happy Monday! Welcome back to my weekly makeup review and series Makeup Bag Monday. This is the fifth week for the series, and my birthday week! EEEK! Tomorrow is my birthday! Read about my thoughts on getting older here.  Each week I pick out a few makeup products from my makeup collection and test them out for a solid week. This will include items that I have neglected and new products I need to review and play with. Every week I update you on whether or not I love the products enough to keep in my makeup collection or to purge them. This has been a great way for me to rediscover forgotten makeup, as well as put new makeup to the test. Plus, you guys get updated makeup reviews on everything. Believe me, having to wear the same products for a full week defiantly gives a new perspective on makeup products. Let’s begin with last week’s makeup review. If you missed it, you can read it here.

Makeup Reviews ~ Last Week

Burberry Complete Eye Palette Nude Blush No.12 $60

I have to say the Burberry shadows are incredibly well formulated. Super soft, buttery, and pigmented. A little goes a long way. Blends beautifully. While I love a good plum palette, I felt that I would have gotten more love out of a neutral palette like the Mocha No.2. Still a gorgeous palette that I will keep around, but defiantly not the everyday shades I gravitate towards.

Guerlain Terracotta 4 seasons 03 Natural Brunettes $76

This bronzer is to die for, there is a reason it’s a favorite among beauty bloggers. At $76 it’s quite pricey, but the natural warmth it provides is beautiful. Packaging is gorgeous and high-end. I like to swirl all four shades for an all over warmth, and use each quarter on it’s own for a quick eyeshadow look. There is a slight scent when first applying, but unlike the Burberry blushes, it dissipates and I find it non offensive. If you have the extra money or just looking for a nice treat, pick up one of the Guerlain bronzers.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer Medium Brown $23

I don’t think I like this as much as the brow wiz. The brow definer defiantly fills and shapes my brows faster, but I find it a bit thick for the tail of my brows. The more I use it the thicker the line has become. I know there are ways to sharpen the angle pencil, but I’m not sure it’s working for me. The color is also a bit relish brown for my taste. I might give this a few more goes before tossing it.

Colour Pop Super Shock Cheek Quarters $8

Love, LOVE, LOVE! This is the perfect blush for any occasion. I use my finger to apply. The formula is so easy to blend and lasts all day. I love the color because it’s the I look good, but you can’t tell why type of blush shade. Plus you cannot beat the price! Just buy it.

Colour Pop Super Shock Cheek Lunch Money $8

This highlight is gorgeous! You can build it up or do a little dab of glow, the choice is up to you. The formula is again easy to work with and super long lasting. I use my fingers to apply, find it’s the best way to apply and blend the products from colour pop.

Ohh, that’s so good to know that the Burberry palette is actually worth the money! I’ve been itching to pick up a couple of Burberry products and I’m planning to do it in Autumn when Sephora has a better sale. Looking forward to your review on the BareMinerals palette.

I have heard similar reviews of the ABH brow definer. If the brow wiz ain’t broke, don’t fix it 🙂

Right?! I want to love it, but it’s just not as great as the brow wiz and if I want an angle, brow powder and a angle brow brush works better. Thanks for stopping by Sarah!
