Match Co Foundation Review

It seems finding your perfect foundation shade is always a struggle. You find the perfect formula, but they don’t make a shade quite your color. Many women buy two shades and mix it themselves to get a close match. Brands have even started to launch shade adjusting drops to mix into your foundations to customize the perfect color match. While these are band aids for a problem, Match Co has developed the technology to give you the perfect color match every time. Match Co is an iPhone app that you can download. The app allows you to calibrate your phone, take a few scans of your wrist and face, and customize your perfect match within minutes. Each finished scan is sent directly to the Match Co headquarters ready to be mixed upon order. The best part is, each bottle is customized with your name and the date you made the scan. I tested out the Match Co app and foundation in today’s Tester Tuesday Video. Watch it here or below. I’ve included a few tips in the video to help with the process. You can also see what the foundation looks like on. Match Co custom blend foundation

Currently Match Co offers a tinted hydrating formula. I find the formula to be light weight, build able, and long wearing. This is a water based foundation and oil free. It really is a universally appealing formula. Ever since receiving my own Match Co custom tinted hydrating formula, I have been reaching for it everyday. I love how it looks and feels on my skin. The shade match is incredible, it enhances my complexion and looks flawless. I’ve even been getting complements with how beautiful my skin looks when out and about.

Being Asian, most makeup artist and many sales associates will automatically color match me to the yellow/olive tone shades. They typically go too dark and too yellow. I hate when my foundation looks too dark and too yellow on me, I feel it makes me look drab. A test of a good makeup artist and if I’ll trust them, is when they see that while I may have olive tones, I also have a lot of pink in my skin. In fact I look best with a neutral based foundation. Most brands split their foundations between cools, pinks, and neutrals, with neutral leaning on the yellow spectrum. A good makeup artist will also mix 2-3 different foundations to give me the perfect match. Let’s face it we are all different and there are many factors that go into skin tone. You can’t bottle 8-20 shades and tell us that one will match. It might come close, but not perfect. What makes us beautiful are our differences. Match Co recognizes this and has developed the technology to give us our own custom blend at an affordable cost.

I was shocked to find out the cost for your own custom tinted hydrating formula + free ground shipping was only $49. Match Co did give me a discount code to share with you. Use MATCHCOxoSW for 20% off your custom blend. At $49 this custom foundation is more affordable than most high-end foundations. When I looked at the ingredients, I was happy to find water being the first ingredient. If you compare Match Co’s ingredients to those of the same price range and higher, you’ll find that Match Co uses the same ingredient without any fillers or fragrances. They are Paraben Free, Sulfate Free, Phthalate Free, Cruelty Free, Non-Comedogenic, Dermatologist Reviewed, Water based, and Oil-Free.

The foundation is filled with nourishing ingredients that are multi-functional at hydrating the skin, correcting, and evening out your skin’s flaws. This is a natural finish foundation that looks like skin. Perfect for everyday and those of us who prefer to look naturally flawless.

Currently for everyday, I will apply a few drops with my fingers for a nice light coverage. If I’m going to be filming or going out, I like to use my hourglass veil primer and a foundation brush. For a full coverage I recommend using a kabuki brush or the Color Me applicator. Always set with a powder. I use IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores. If you are extremely oily, use a good mattifying primer on your oily areas (I recommend this tip for any foundation). If you are super dry, this foundation will help, but make sure to prep the skin before with good skincare habits.  Finally, if you have any reservations, Match Co does accept returns for any reason within 30 days.

Yesterday I received the order I placed on May 6 and it’s a perfect match to my skin tone. I love this product so much I’m ready to order another bottle just in case they ever stop making it. I’m a 45 year old Latina and have struggled all my adult life to find a true match that doesn’t make me look like I have makeup on. This product nails it! It has more coverage than a tinted moisturizer, but it is not for anyone looking for full coverage. The rest of my makeup works seamlessly with it. The negative results being posted are hard to believe. Please don’t be discouraged from trying it out.

Do you know any dark friends who have tried this? All I have seen are reviews by white or Asian women. It’s hard to trust something as a woman of color when all I see for examples are fair complexioned people. Variations of brown start to get a little reddish or blackish, know what I mean? 🙂

Have you gotten an answer? I am interested but having dark skin is it difficult to match.

From what I’ve seen if you have really dark skin it doesn’t work. The app may match you for a darker skin tone but the company doesn’t seem to mix for very dark skin tones unfortunately. There’s some reviews of it on youtube by darker skin ladies.

I ordered Match Co foundation January 8th 2017. I am still waiting they keep pushing back my ship date. I which I knew that it would take 4 months to receive I would have ordered something else for now. I have gone through all my favorite powder trying to use this instead of foundation.

I did order MATCHCo, because my face is extremely pale and with every foundation I have tried, it’s either too dark or too pink. When my MATCHCo came, I can’t tell you how excited I was. The next morning with a clean and primed face, I tried my new foundation. WHAT A BUST. THIS STUFF IS AWFUL! It is literally a tinted moisturizer that doesn’t show up on the skin at all! I tried layering it for more coverage like it said. I tried using a foundation brush and patting it on. Then I tried to conceal the red spots that it didn’t cover, no no no, it made them show up bigger and brighter. EW. When I tried to add concealer, it didn’t work with the MATCHCo at all. It wouldn’t blend and sat ontop of the MATCHCo. What is going on?? What a waste of time and money. If you’re looking for literally lotion, this is what you will get with this fail of a “foundation”. The only thing good about it I can say is that it did match my skin tone before it disappeared into my face after applying. So sad. I was excited.

Just bought this and I’m equally impressed. Coverage is light enough, my skin but better, that I prefer. A godsend not to have to go to a high end counter and trust a stranger with how I should spend my money. And yes, thank you so much for the coupon code!
