Pool Day at Nautilus ~ Miami Swim Week

Hubs loves Miami, I’ve never been, so what better excuse do we need to attend this year’s Miami Swim Week? The answer? None. One of our goals as a couple, is to travel more. Last year was our first big trip together visiting London and Paris. You can catch the vlogs here. Growing up, I use to travel a few times a year, all the way through my 20’s, but the last few years, my traveling had stopped. Between hubs traveling almost every week for work and my growing anxiety over the travel process, it’s been a challenge, however a challenge we’d like to face.

Part of the appeal of visiting Miami, is my friend Ylette lives in Miami. You know when you meet someone for the first time and you just know you’ll get along? That’s Ylette. Make sure to follower her on YouTube and all her social medias, Ylette Izquierdo.

When we realized that Miami Swim Week was coming up, we decided to make it a work trip. I love what I do and want to  to travel often to bring fresh content for my audience. This was a a great opportunity to start travel content here.

FIRST DAY IN MIAMI

Our first full day in Miami was spent at the Nautilus Pool. Walking up to the Nautilus a SIXTY Hotel in South Beach, Miami, was BREATHTAKING. I love the sleek modern design and architecture. We had reservations for a cabana and day bed and It was the perfect start for our first Miami Swim Week and first full day in Miami.

Nautilus Pool Miami Beach The pool is like the rest of the hotel, sleek, modern, minimal, clean, and sexy, AND, Ylette was able to join us for drinks. Nothing better than just relaxing by the pool with good conversation. The drinks were refreshing. Hubs had a margarita, and Ylette and I tried the berry cocktails, we may have had 4 rounds.

For lunch, I had the fish tacos and hubs had a cheese burger. Nothing fancy, but exactly what we wanted. Fresh, flavorful food. Good portions that were filling, but didn’t make you feel too full to be at the pool. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating as well. I really can’t say enough about how wonderful they were.

Another great bonus of the Nautilus pool, is it’s just steps away from the beach. Perfect to take a walk in the sand or dip your toes in the Atlantic Ocean. For me this was my first time visiting the Atlantic Ocean. I was shocked at the difference in temperature between the Pacific Ocean.  The water is also a lot calmer compared to the waters of the Pacific. I could spend hours just floating in the Atlantic, which I did the following day.

All and all we had a a wonderful, relaxing, and fun day at the Nautilus Pool. Good food, good drinks, and excellent service, all at a beautiful location. I defiantly recommend a visit if you are ever in Miami.

Have you ever been to Miami? What are some of your favorite spots?

xoxo
