This blog post is about the new NARS Soft Matte Complete Foundation, Soft Matte Concealer, and NARS Climax Extreme Mascara.
I have been a long time fan of NARS complexion products, therefore I was excited to receive the new NARS Soft Matte Complete Foundation available now at Sephora. Gifted with the new foundation, I also received the soft matte concealer. They have recently extended the shade range. I also have the new NARS Climax Extreme Mascara to test. Watch my first impression review on YouTube. Now after testing a full week, here are my updated thoughts in today's post.

The New Foundation Review
After testing this foundation for a full week, it is definitely long-wearing. It does not oxidize, but tends to run a shade deeper than other NARS foundations, therefore if you are in between shades, I recommend going a shade lighter.
Definitely a full coverage foundation in my book, but I love how lightweight it is on the skin. Because of the versatility of the formula, you can sheer it out or build it up to its full potential.
My favorite part of the new NARS Soft Matte Complete Foundation is that it’s mask resistant. Being mask resistant, you can trust your makeup will look great after wearing a mask all day or after a long day.
I like that it’s resistant vs. proof because honestly anything that won’t transfer at all scares me to put on my face all day. You want your makeup to come off.
Bonus the foundation is retail at $40 which is a fair price for NARS and comparable to other foundations in the mid to luxury range.
NARS Soft Matte Concealer
I also received the NARS Soft Matte Concealer which has extended it’s shade range. This was the first time I’ve tested the concealer. It’s a really good, pigmented, full coverage concealer. Like the NARS Soft Matte Complete Foundation, both do not need to be set with powder. The cool thing is when formulating the products, they mixed in powder!
My recommendation is to reserve this concealer for the face versus using as an under-eye. It was just a bit too heavy for my under-eyes and I can see it being too much for most. For under-eyes I recommend NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.
NARS Climax Extreme Mascara
As a fan of the original NARS Climax mascara, I was excited to try the new extreme version. This mascara does a good job of adding volume and thickness in one coat. You can see it’s full potential in volume after 2 to 3 coats, however it can a become clumpy quickly.
Didn’t have any issues with it running or smudging. Also enjoyed the deep inky black pigment.
