New Roller Lash Mascara by Benefit

The beauty community has once again been taken by storm with the release of a new mascara from Benefit Cosmetics. Benefit really knows how to draw attention and buzz around a new product launch. This weekend, I walked into Sephora with the intention of purchasing this much hyped about new mascara, but was able to get a sample size to try out instead. Mascara samples last a long time, and I figured why buy the full size till I know I like it. If you can run to sephora and get a sample to test first.

Always love the packaging that Benefit comes up with. Girly, yet clean, and just enough edge to it. IMG_5402

The wand reminds me of a curved version of the ever popular They’re Real Mascara from Benefit. There are little rubberized spikes closely packed together, super black, sticky formula, only the Roller Lash has a curve to it.

Now The Roller Lash claims to:

  • give long lasting curl
  • lift lashes
  • make eyes look more wide open
  • hold up for 12 hours

The mascara has a “hook’n’roll brush and it’s suppose to hook, lift, and curl your lashes without a lash curler.

I was VERY skeptical about this last claim. I’ve been using an eyelash curler for decades, it’s a must have tool for my straight lashes. So, did this work?

Lashes were NOT curled before application.

I definitely think this is a curling mascara. This was quite impressive considering I had not used a lash curler or any other mascara to achieve the amount of curl show in the pictures. The mascara formula is quite sticky and when applying you feel the wand’s “hook, lift, and curl” action happening. The sensation is quite strange, but the result is very nice.

On the day I decided to try this out, it was raining and I was out all day. The mascara held up without smudging or drooping on me. My lashes stayed curled and I’m quite impressed. Dare I say I like this more than the They’re Real Mascara? If you have super straight heavy lashes I’d suggest trying this mascara then layering with They’re Real for extra volume and drama. For day to day the Roller Lash is a great mascara of choice. Also if you have super stubborn lashes this would work wonders with a lash curler before application.

Have you tried the new mascara? What are your thoughts? I’d love to know. Leave a comment in this post.

XOXO

This mascara is fabulous. It is very easy to use and looks great. This Mascara lengthens the lashes for a long time and make the eyes wide open.

So glad you like this! 🙂 I love it, but think I still prefer ‘They’re Real’ – although this is an amazing one for ‘everyday lashes’ for me, much more lengthening like you say! I just like the drama of ‘They’re Real’ 🙂

I got the same sample 🙂 I love the end results, it made my lashes very long and added volume but it did smudge on me. I have a problem with a lot of mascaras smudging on me so it can be just that.

Yay! Oh no on the smudging! What mascaras do not smudge on you?

This smudged quite badly on me… I loved that it lived up to everything it claims, but it just was very smudgy so I have stopped using it altogether
