New York City has always been a magical place for me. For as long as I can remember the lure of Broadway, Fifth Avenue, and all that New York has to offer has been a love affair. I actually lived in NYC for a brief stint. Unfortunately being a NYC resident did not suit me, but I love visiting!
What better excuse to visit New York than for a beauty convention? Generation Beauty by Ipsy is one of my favorite beauty conventions out there. The event focuses on creators, beauty lovers, and networking. Beauty lovers and content creators get a chance to connect with brands and each other. The event is by far one of the most organized I have attended. All attendees receive a generous goodie bag on top of all the wonderful surprises each brand has for you when visiting their booths.
While I obsessively watched the weather forecast to plan my outfits, NYC decided to laugh at me once I arrived. Temperatures dropped to low 50’s and the wind and rain was brutal. We broke 2 umbrellas during our trip. Coming from 100 degree dry L.A. weather, I was not prepared for this.
Here are a few memories I managed to capture and share with you. There is a chance to win a beautiful Bailey Blue dress pictured below. Make sure to enter!
There is something about sitting in a cafe and watching NYC go by. I love the Shifty Shift dress from Bailey Blue, the black shift dress is comfy and easily dressed up or down. I decided to pair the simple dress with over the knee boots from asos. The weather was still quite warm, with minor sprinkling of rain during the day. Use “serein25” for 25% off all orders on Bailey Blue.
This was also the night we had tickets for “An American in Paris.” The weather suddenly shifted and I needed the boots to keep my legs warm. I also added a beige knit for the chill.
Thursday was spent relaxing with hubs and meeting up with one of my good friends who still lives in New York.
Friday was a busy day and one of the coldest and wettest! I had a lunch in the afternoon, then ran off to the IT Cosmetics new product launch. After the IT Cosmetics event, I was off to the Generation Beauty Preview Cocktail Party. I wore the Danika Deep V Dress from Bailey Blue and froze my butt off, but the dress is gorgeous!
I paired the classy dress with my Sam Edelman Pump, the heel offers a little length to my legs, but still practical for running all over town.
My nails are Sally Hansen nail stickers. These are my little secret for a last minute manicure. Everyone thought I had a professional manicure, when it only cost $9.99 and I get 2 uses out of one kit.
I really love Bailey Blue Dresses for the comfort and affordability. Most of the dresses are all under $50 and they are offering my readers 25% off when you use “serein25” at checkout (Not an affiliate code). The dresses are cute, chic, and easy to wear.
Friday was an overwhelming day and I arrived back at the hotel exhausted and grateful. The giant red leather handbag that helped me carry everything is from Lineij Inc. I literally carried my life in this purse and it even has a tracker hidden in the lining, just incase it goes missing.
After a whirl wind trip to NYC, we were headed back home to move the next day. While I love NYC and the magic the city possesses, I am happy to return to my So Cal weather and fur babies.
