There has been a major love affair with zara lately. I love all the basics the brand has to offer. Recently, I picked up this beautiful and cozy coat from zara, perfect for a Los Angeles winter. The grey color goes with almost everything and the quality is nice, especially for the price of $69.90. Is it just me, or has the price of clothing gone a bit insane? Recently I have seen items at Forever 21 for $80!
My everyday style is pretty casual. Comfort is important to me and I love how the coat looks over my everyday basics of boyfriend jeans, (passed down from Kristina) a green H&M top, and Steve Madden booties from last year.
My necklace was a gift from Kristina, she made this. I am trying to convince her to reopen her etsy shop. Love the delicate gold chain and crystal attached. It just adds a little something to the outfit.
After donating and discarding 90% of my wardrobe this past summer, I have been very careful in what I want to purchase. I feel that my style has shifted a bit and I want to make sure I love every piece I put into my closet. For this season, I am also going to try and focus on a capsule wardrobe. This means for my day to day wardrobe, I will look at every piece I own, decide what to keep, what not to keep, what to put away for next season, and what I need to add to my wardrobe for the next three months. I will not buy anything else, till the next season. I hope this keeps my closet organized, condensed, and that I will actually get use out of my clothes. It was embarrassing how many pieces I donated with tags on them.
Have you done a capsule wardrobe before? What are your thoughts on them?
I also feel that if I am limiting my wardrobe to pieces I know I will wear and have put thought into, I won’t feel bad for spending a little more on each piece. Quality is what I am looking for. When I find something I love, I want it to last, so why not spend a little more on a pair of boots that I will wear for years?
XOXO

Love this coat. I’m a big lover of anything in grey. It would be more of a fall coat for me though. Canadian winters can be brutal! I’ve thought about a capsule wardrobe for a while but haven’t had the nerve to do it yet, so bravo to you. Can’t believe Kristina made that necklace. It’s beautiful! She’s very talented.

Thank you so much Shirley! Yeah for L.A. this coat is plenty, lol. I was very nervous about starting a capsule wardrobe, but I realized for the most part, I wear the same things everyday anyways. So for my main wardrobe I should be able to stick to the capsule wardrobe idea and concept this way I can also focus on buying quality pieces vs. focus on quantity.
