As you may know, the past year has been a challenging one for me. As September arrives, I find myself reflecting during my five year anniversary. Five years ago, my mom first told me her health problems might be critical. She wanted to postpone surgery till after our wedding. I did not want her to. My uncle had major surgery and could not make it to our wedding. He had been fighting cancer for almost 10 years. It was getting bad. I finally had enough of dealing with my abusive father and refused to tolerate it anymore. During what was suppose to be the happiest time of my life, many things were also happening. Things I didn't really know how to process.
We had a beautiful wedding, I married the only man for me and it was the happiest time of my life, but also one of the hardest emotionally. Shortly after the wedding was when I fell into one of the worst depressions of my life. It was through all this that I discovered blogging and YouTube. Looking back and realizing that it's been five years is surreal. I've grown in so many ways. While I have grown and healed some of the old wounds, there are new ones now.
I want to take this time to thank you. Thank you for being here. For reading and watching. Thank you for reaching out when my mom had her stroke. When I lost her this year, you were there. This community has kept me going. When I started this blog and my channel I wanted to create a community that enjoyed something simple. I wanted to have a positive group of people that could share their interest in beauty and forget the problems we deal with in our daily lives for a few minutes. Never did I imagine how this community would also be here for me. How it would keep me going during the hardest times. These giveaways are just a small gesture from me as a thank you.
