Okay, I know I’m suppose to be on a “no buy” and saving money for my fast approaching Europe vacation, but I just could not help myself when the QVC “Today Special Value” popped up for Tarte.
Tarte has been a long standing favorite brand of mine since college. My first exposure to them was with their lip and cheek stains, then their original amazonian clay foundation that was discontinued. The brand always seemed so unique to me. Tarte was ahead of it’s time with glutton free, paraben free, and cruelty free makeup all in chic packaging.
I’m a sucker for any palette, especially a limited edition Tarte palette. The kit includes 6 eyeshadows and 1 blush. The shadows are plummy and perfect for brown and hazel eyes. The blush is a universally flattering peachy pink shade. Also the formulation of Tarte shadows and blushers are always super long lasting and oil absorbing without being drying, thanks to the amazonian clay.
What really excited me about this gift set was the Maracuja Miracle Foundcealer. This is a brand new item and as far as I can tell not available anywhere else… yet. I LOVE this foundcealer. It is a thin liquid consistency that needs to be shaken well before use (very “in” at the moment). The coverage is medium to full, but feels like air. You can truly build this product up. I wear the shade light-medium and you can bet I’ll be recommending this foundation. I’ve worn the product for a full 12 hours and did not need to blot or powder. The finish is smooth and looks like skin, the only way a foundation should look on you. Also the product is infused with Maracuja Oil, high in vitamin C. Who doesn’t want their foundation and concealer to contain good for you ingredients? I still do use an under eye corrector with the foundcealer and for major spots, you’ll need a good concealer.
The kit also included 2 brushes. The face brush is super soft and densely packed. Perfect for buffing in the foundation. There’s a dual ended shadow brush that is also included. Tarte has some great quality brushes with pretty gold and bamboo finishing. I’m not a fan of the dual ended brushes because it makes storing a pain. All in all the brushes are high quality and pretty.
There’s a pretty purple weaved makeup bag that you can fit all you new goodies in, nothing too special about the bag, but hey who doesn’t need a purple makeup bag? Well actually I don’t.
A full size of my favorite mascara from Tarte is also included in the kit. The Gifted Mascara has a traditional wand and is easy to build up adding volume and definition.
Lastly there is a gloss in exquisite. I’m not a huge fan of glosses lately, but it is a non sticky, hydrating, mauve toned gloss that’s nice to have on hand.
All and all the kit was defiantly worth it. After shipping and tax I pay around $60 for all these goodies! Just the mascara is usually $20.
There are still a few kits available last I checked so get them while you can! The price is now $65 + Shipping and Handling so you’ll have to pay a few more bucks, but oh is the kit still worth it! Buy HERE
Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!
