BEST OF TRADER JOE’S BEAUTY

I love Trader Joe’s. It’s seriously one of my favorite errands to run each week. My love for Trader Joe’s began in my early 20’s when I didn’t cook. Trader Joe’s (or TJ's is what we called it in college) has a variety of easy throw together meals and delicious frozen foods that taste homemade. The snacks are amazing! Best part is I don’t usually feel as guilty eating the frozen food from Trader Joe’s, plus It’s affordable. Being on Keto, Chris and I visit our neighborhood TJ’s a few times a week to pick up staples like butter, eggs, and spinach. During our last trip, I couldn’t help notice all the new Trader Joe’s Beauty products.

Back in my college days and brief time living in New York, I loved the small Trader Joe’s beauty section. It was a treat for me to be able to buy the lavender salt scrub or coconut body butter. Now it seems Trader Joe’s has expanded their beauty department to a whole skincare and bath time routine. So I thought let’s buy everything I can possibly use for a week and try Trader Joe’s Beauty for 9 days. There's a full vlog style review video over on my channel HERE

Here is what I think are the Best of Trader Joe’s Beauty Products and worth checking out next time you're doing your weekly grocery shop.

BEST OF TRADER JOE'S BEAUTY

TRADER JOE’S BATH AND BODY

Let’s start with bath products. Like I’ve mentioned, I was a fan of the bath and body products I’ve tested in the past and I have to say they’ve added some new favorites.

Moisturizing Cream Shave 8 FL OZ $3.99

This ultra nourishing shave cream is more of a shave lotion. Protects my skin from nics and razor bumps while leaving my skin smooth, soft, and a hint of honey mango fragrance.

Refresh Citrus Body Wash with Vitamin C 16 FL OZ $2.99

My favorite scent family is citrus, so I love the Refresh body wash. I use this with my natural sponge and it creates a beautiful lather that leaves me feeling clean, fresh, and not too dry. Great value!

Hair Mask with Shea Butter & Coconut OIl 5.1 FL OZ $3.99

Seriously this hair mask is such a gem. You cannot beat the price and the packaging is my favorite. Easy to use, not heavy, does not weigh my hair down at all. If you have dryer hair, leave in longer (like during a workout) or use as your daily conditioner.

Lavender Salt Scrub 20 FL OZ $5.99

It’s good to know I had good taste even back in my early 20’s. This was the first beauty product I ever picked up from Trader Joe’s. Back then spending $6 on a bath product that I didn’t necessarily need was a splurge. The salt scrub is incredibly exfoliating and mixed with the lavender oil, it leaves your skin with a layer of oily hydration. Perfect if you’re short on time and hate applying moisturizers.

Lavender Lotion 12 FL OZ $4.99

It comes in a pump! Smells like a spa and leaves a light layer of moisture. Perfect for daytime use and those who are not severely dry.

TRADER JOE’S SKINCARE

Moving into skincare, this is where I got a bit skeptical. I figured for basics I should be good, but when it comes to all the serums, facial oils, and treatment type of products I just didn’t think it was going to be right for my 30 something sensitive skin. Here’s what I felt is worth your money and time.

Rose Water Facial Toner 4 FL OZ $3.99

This is my favorite discovery from my time using Trader Joe’s Beauty. Just as good as many of my more expensive rose waters, but a fraction of the price. The spritzer perfectly distributes the product too! Use this to tone, refresh, and set your makeup.

Facial Cleansing Oil 4 FL OZ $5.99

While I didn’t love this in my video review, I do feel it’s noteworthy enough to mention here. If you use the oil dry (like you should with most cleansing oils) and take tissue to remove your makeup, it works the best. Still not sold on hard to remove mascara or eyeliner, but good enough for the price point. You can also use straight up coconut oil too.

Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub 2 OZ $5.99

I really enjoyed this physical exfoliant. Gentle and good for a morning routine when you feel your skin is a bit dry and flaky. Not too harsh at all and smells amazing!

Micellar Cleanser & Makeup Remover Towelettes 20 count $3.99

An alcohol free cleansing wipe that’s gentle and removes minor makeup, perfect for pre workouts and after workouts. My skin is pretty sensitive to wipes and this one is not irritating at all.

Nourish Antioxidant Facial Serum 1 FL OZ $9.99

While the most expensive of the products listed, I think this serum is worth looking into as a makeup primer. I talk about it in the video, but I think this is a great dupe for many pore minimizing primers on the market. I don’t recommend the serum as an actual antioxidant serum, but do recommend for a primer.

If you get a minute. What rose oil did you recommend? I couldn’t get the name you said. I have mature skin looking for a moisture oil for night time.

Thank you for reviewing these products for us! I’m a big lover of Trader Joe’s for their healthy meals, but I might just have to pick up some beauty products while I’m there next time. The price’s seems very reasonable for the most part. I’m making a beeline for that citrus body wash on my next visit!

    Have a great day 🙂
